The Buffalo Bills have traded wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans. In exchange, Buffalo will receive a 2025 second-round pick that originally belonged to Minnesota, as well as a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick. By trading Diggs before June 1, the Bills will face a $31 million dead cap charge in 2024.
Diggs is currently signed through 2027 and spent the first five seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings before being traded to Buffalo in 2020. During his first season with the Bills, he led the league in catches (127) and yards (1535). Despite his impressive statistics, the Bills have decided to part ways with Diggs, giving the Texans another valuable weapon for their rising second-year quarterback, C.J. Stroud.
Throughout his 136 career games, Diggs has accumulated 810 receptions for 9,995 yards and 67 touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how his departure from the Bills impacts both his own performance and the success of Josh Allen moving forward.
