Steelers Strengthen Their Running Back Group with La’Mical Perine’s Signing

Yahoo Sports reports that the Steelers have signed La’Mical Perine

The Steelers have added another running back to their roster, with La’Mical Perine signing to the 90-man roster. This move comes after Jonathan Ward also joined the team earlier in the week. Perine joins Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson in the backfield group for Pittsburgh.

Perine saw action in three regular season games and three postseason games for the Chiefs last year, where he ran 22 times for 77 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards in the regular season. However, he did not have any touches in the playoffs. The running back was drafted by the Jets in the fourth round of 2020 and had 263 yards and two touchdowns on 72 carries in 14 games for the team.

With Perine now on board, the Steelers running back group is shaping up to be a solid and versatile unit for next season. It will be interesting to see how Perine fits into this mix and contributes to the team’s success on the field.
