Outstanding Players from Memphis Area High Schools in Week 12 of Spring Sports

Here are the top performers of Memphis area high school spring sports for Week 12 of the 2024 season, Spring Fling edition:

In baseball, Arlington’s Jack Hibbard and Luke Miller combined for a no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Bradley Central. Hibbard struck out 11 batters, while Slade Williams of Arlington scored two runs. Briarcrest’s Brennan Bomar had a standout performance with two hits, including a home run and five RBIs in a 14-2 victory over CPA. Taylor Brady and Cole Photopulos also had notable performances with two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored respectively. Houston Walker of Briarcrest had two hits in the game.

In softball, Brittanie Layton of Arlington had two hits in a 2-0 loss to Nolensville. St. Benedict’s Olivia Evans, Izzy Henderson, Meredith McCusker, Charlee Smith and Jorja Wheeler all contributed to a 6-2 win against CPA with notable hits and runs. Wheeler pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and striking out 15 batters.

In boys soccer, Trinden Holliday and Drew McKeithen of Houston each scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to Ravenwood. Memphis Business Academy’s Andre Amperez, Jason Rivera and Linberth Soriano had strong performances in a 4-2 victory against Harpeth with Soriano scoring two goals. Daniel Garcia, Chase Michael and Noel Rostro of Millington scored in a thrilling 3-2 overtime win against Chester County.
