Spring High School Sports Seniors Showcase Their Skills: The Elite Players to Watch

Nominations are now being accepted for the top senior spring sports athlete in the Grand Rapids area

Spring high school sports season is coming to an end, and we are wrapping up our Athlete of the Week poll. This time, we are focusing on the seniors who have been standout players throughout their careers. We will be showcasing the area’s elite spring sports seniors in a new feature that will be released on Tuesday, May 7.

The group of top seniors includes future Division-I college athletes like GR Catholic Central lacrosse midfielder Claire Marosi (Northwestern), East Grand Rapids lacrosse attacker Vivian LaMange (Robert Morris), and Hudsonville centerfielder Megan Beemer (Michigan). Other notable seniors to watch are Byron Center catcher Sophie Holverstott (Michigan State), Coopersville soccer midfielder Rachael Wright (Michigan State), Forest Hills Northern soccer forward Auden Stauffer (Central Michigan), Ottawa Hills distance runner Selma Anderson (Syracuse), and many more.

We want to make sure we are not missing anyone deserving of recognition, whether they are seniors, juniors, sophomores, or freshmen. Readers can submit nominations, player stats, and accolades to Patrick Nothaft at pnothaft@mlive.com. Throughout the season, our spotlight has already shone on winners like Allendale girls track sprinter Kennadi Galy and Holland Christian baseball shortstop Caden VanHuis. Stay tuned for more exciting stories about the best athletes in each grade in upcoming weeks!
