Dallas County marks World Health Day with celebrations – The Selma Times‑Journal

In Dallas County, the West Central Baptist Association celebrated World Health Day on April 4. This was the third consecutive year that the organization has hosted the event. The group traveled around the county, visiting various locations such as Vaughan Regional Medical Center, churches, and nursing homes. Over 1,000 gift bags were distributed during the event, each containing assorted food items and biblical scriptures. These bags were prepared by volunteers from local churches and members of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) and Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA).

During the event, WMU director Kathy Smith emphasized that providing care to others is not just a job but a calling to serve loved ones in need. She thanked ESA and members of the community for their support. Sheriff Mike Grantham also participated in the event, praising those who dedicated their time and resources to make a positive impact on others’ lives. The recipients of the gift bags were uplifted through prayers and acts of kindness throughout the day.
