Oklahoma City’s Economy Thrives with Increase in WCWS Tourism

The Women’s College World Series is a highly anticipated event that brings together fans from all over the country to Oklahoma City. On Sunday, games 9 and 10 took place at Devon Park, attracting a large number of spectators who were there to support their favorite teams as they compete for the title. The Women’s College World Series alone is expected to generate a $25 million economic impact in the area over the weekend. When combined with other recent sporting events held in Oklahoma such as the PGA Tour in Tulsa and NBA playoffs at Paycom Center sports tourism has had an enormous impact on state’s economy generating over $250 million in two years alone.
