Sports Broadcaster Suspended from MLB Stadium over Allegations of Inappropriate Behavior

Longtime Philadelphia sports broadcaster barred from attending Phillies games for inappropriate behavior toward employee

Howard Eskin, a well-known sports broadcaster in Philadelphia, has been banned from Citizens Bank Park for the rest of the season after allegations of making an unwanted advance on an employee at the venue. The radio station where Eskin broadcasts, Audacy, confirmed the incident and expressed their commitment to taking such matters seriously. The Philadelphia Phillies also released a statement acknowledging the allegations and supporting Eskin’s suspension.

Despite the ban from Citizens Bank Park, Audacy stated that Eskin will continue to broadcast on 94 WIP. Eskin has had a long history with the radio station, helping launch its first sports talk show in 1986 and hosting nearly 7,000 shows over the years. Additionally, Eskin has had various TV roles in Philadelphia during his broadcasting career.

The incident occurred in the CP Rankin Club, an exclusive seating area behind home plate, just hours before a game. Aramark, the company that operates concessions and services at the ballpark, emphasized the importance of employee safety in response to the allegations. Following an investigation, Aramark confirmed the employee’s account of an unwanted advance by an Audacy employee.

Both Audacy and Aramark have taken swift action to address the situation and ensure the safety and well-being of their employees. The Phillies have expressed their seriousness in handling such matters and have supported Eskin’s suspension from the ballpark. Despite this setback
