Sportradar, a leading sports technology company, has utilized artificial intelligence (AI) to predict the winner of the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 tournament. Through a series of simulations, Sportradar’s AI technology determined that England is the most likely team to emerge victorious, with a 24% probability. This prediction puts England ahead of France and Germany in terms of chances of winning the championship title.
To arrive at this conclusion, Sportradar conducted 10,000 simulations for each match and leveraged data from 900 sportsbook operators. By inputting tens of thousands of data points into its AI algorithm, Sportradar was able to perform a deep analysis of historical data and anticipate different outcomes within the confines of the tournament regulations for UEFA Euro 2024.
In addition to predicting England as the potential winner, Sportradar’s AI simulations also identified France’s Kylian Mbappe as the player most likely to win the Golden Boot award for being the top goal scorer in the tournament. Out of 10,000 simulations, Mbappe was selected as the top goal scorer 1,519 times, just slightly edging out England’s Harry Kane who was chosen 1,477 times.
Sportradar’s AI technology also highlighted English players Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden as potential players to watch during the tournament. Being identified 453 and 288 times respectively in the simulations, these young talents are expected to make significant contributions to their team’s success.
