Spokane’s Next Generation Gets Excited About New Technology During Navy Week

Spokane, Washington is set to host Navy Week festivities as one of the 15 cities across the nation. The local community and schools are actively involved in the lead-up events, including St. Aloysius Catholic School, which had the opportunity to participate in the exciting activities.

Navy members visited the school to educate students about the daily operations carried out by Washington Naval teams. Chief Devin, who is stationed at Naval Base Kitsap, answered students’ questions and provided a glimpse into the future of naval operations through sonar submarine vehicles. These underwater vehicles utilize new technology and can be used in various locations around the world, including Puget Sound and Pacific Ocean.

The students were fascinated by these operations and highlighted the Navy’s goal of inspiring and informing the next generation of service members. Chief Devin emphasized that Navy provides diverse opportunities for those interested in joining military beyond submarines or surface ships. Navy Week events will continue throughout the week leading up to Armed Forces Torch Light Parade in Downtown Spokane. FOX28 Spokane
