In recent news, the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption, and Agenda 2030 has imposed sanctions on a total of 17 online game operators for serious or very serious infractions. This has resulted in fines that amount to over 81 million euros. The Ministry, led by Pablo Bustinduy, announced these sanctions, which have recently been made firm in Spain.
Out of the 17 operators, 10 have been sanctioned for very serious infractions, with some facing disqualifications for a period of two to four years. The General Directorate of Gambling Regulation (DGOJ) has issued these resolutions, with the largest fine of 35 million euros imposed on the National Organization of Spanish and European Disabled People (ONDEE). Other operators that have been sanctioned for very serious infractions include Rabadi, Uno Digital Media, Eight Stars, Mrsloty Games Tech, Entretenimiento Rojo, Onyxion Malta, Trw Corporate, Vdsoft&Script Development, and Uniquegame.
In addition to these very serious infractions, the DGOJ has also detected serious violations in seven other online betting and gaming operators such as Gamesys ,888 , Esgaming , and Codere . In total fines amount to 1150000 euros . These administrative violations will be published on the DGOJ website after the interested parties have been notified. Since July 2021 , the Ministry has imposed fines totaling over 333 million euros in more than 139 sanctioning resolutions.
