South Summit’s Multisport Struggles: A Season in Review.

Brief Overview of South Summit’s Spring Sports Seasons

The South Summit baseball team ended their season on May 3 with a disappointing 9-3 loss to Grantsville in the second game of their playoff series. This defeat followed a 13-1 loss in game one on May 2, leaving the team with a final record of 3-22 for the season. Unfortunately, South Summit was unable to win the state championship as Union emerged victorious on May 11 with a win over Manti.

In addition to the baseball team’s struggles, the South Summit boys soccer team also faced challenges during their season. They lost 3-0 to Morgan in the playoffs on May 4, despite having advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Canyon View in first place earlier that month. Despite this setback, South Summit finished the season with an impressive 9-7 record. Ogden went on to claim the state championship by defeating Manti in the finals on May 11.

The South Summit girls golf team also faced some challenges during their season, missing out on making it into the state tournament with a team score of +184. However, two individual players – Tristan Hendricks and Ellie Marchant – were able to make it through after finishing tied for 63rd and 60th respectively. Richfield secured the state title with a score of +72, while Grayson Gagnon from Juan Diego won individual honors with a score of +15.

Finally, the South Summit track team concluded their season by finishing in 15th place at the state meet with a total team score of 26.5. The boys squad managed to finish in third place in their division with a total of 12 points, while
