On April 1, many Oklahomans who are enrolled in SoonerCare will be transitioning to a new health plan called SoonerSelect, announced by the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority. This new health plan is expected to be utilized by more than half of SoonerCare members and will cover non-disabled children, low-income parents, pregnant women, and non-disabled adults aged 19 to 64.
It is important for members who are switching to SoonerSelect to verify their coverage with their healthcare provider to ensure they are still within their network. Additionally, members should have received new identification cards by now, but if not, they are encouraged to reach out to MySoonerCare.org for assistance.
The focus of SoonerSelect will be on promoting health and wellness both within and outside of the doctor’s office. The Oklahoma Healthcare Authority aims to monitor quality metrics and assess how the new program and different value-added services are helping members achieve their health goals, improve their health outcomes, and enhance their quality of life.
For those who are eligible for SoonerSelect but have not yet selected this new plan, they have until June 30 to make changes to their coverage.
