SoonerCare Enrollees in Oklahoma to Transition to SoonerSelect: Understanding the New Health Plan and Its Focus on Health and Wellness

Many Oklahomans who are enrolled in SoonerCare are transitioning to the new SoonerSelect Health Plan

Effective April 1, SoonerCare users in Oklahoma will be transitioning to a new health plan known as SoonerSelect. This announcement was made by the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority, which revealed that more than half of SoonerCare enrollees will be switching to this new plan.

SoonerSelect provides coverage for non-disabled children, including those in foster care, low-income parents, pregnant women, and non-disabled adults aged 19 to 64. Individuals who are switching to the SoonerSelect plan are advised to confirm any changes with their healthcare provider to ensure they remain within the network. It is important to have the new SoonerSelect I.D. cards already, but if not, reaching out to MySoonerCare.org is recommended.

Emily Long, a representative from the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority, emphasized that SoonerSelect is designed to focus on health and wellness both inside and outside of the doctor’s office. She stated that the program will closely monitor quality metrics in order to assess its effectiveness in helping members achieve their health goals, improve health outcomes and enhance their overall quality of life.

If you are eligible for SoonerSelect but have not yet selected the plan, you have until June 30th to make changes to your coverage.
