Eric and Synneva Flom nominated by Headwaters Science Center

Headwaters Science Center has honored Eric and Synneva Flom as “Someone Special Volunteers” for their notable contributions to the community. The father-daughter duo is known for their expertise in animals, particularly snakes. Eric has experience working with various types of animals, while Synneva has a ball python. They are often referred to as “snake whisperers” due to their extensive knowledge and expertise.

At the center, they primarily serve as museum workers, interacting with guests and visitors without constant direction. Director Lee Furuseth praised Eric and Synneva for their proactive approach to volunteering, noting that they are always ready to pitch in without being asked. Their versatility is evident in their willingness to take on various tasks, from wielding a hammer and paintbrush to operating motorized tools.

During the busy field trip season from March to June, Eric and Synneva play a crucial role in providing individual attention to guests due to the high volume of visitors. Their dedication and assistance are greatly appreciated by the Science Center staff. In recognition of their outstanding contributions, they have been nominated as “Someone Special Volunteers” by Headwaters Science Center.
