Smart Traffic Solutions Require a Collaborative Approach: Experts Discuss Developing Practical Experience and Expertise in Information Technology

Good Engineers Needed for Smart Transportation

The development of smart traffic application technology requires engineers to gain practical experience at businesses in order to enhance their skills, according to experts. This sentiment was echoed by Mr. Vo Quang Hue, former General Director of Bosch Vietnam, during a seminar on “Smart transportation promotes sustainable development” hosted by Viet Duc University. Mr. Hue emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities, businesses, and the government to develop human resources for smart transportation and encouraged the transition to electric vehicles to protect the environment.

From his perspective, Mr. Hue praised the eagerness of young Vietnamese engineers to learn and progress quickly. He also stressed the need for clear legal frameworks to support the development of electric vehicles and highlighted the limited application of technology in traffic management due to a lack of expertise in information technology among management teams.

Addressing human resource development in smart transportation, Mr. Phan Thanh Son, Deputy General Director of FPT Information System, emphasized the importance of practical experience and planning in designing comprehensive solutions. He stressed the need for highly qualified engineers to develop advanced traffic models for global markets and underscored the ongoing need for skilled human resources in the field of smart transportation.

In conclusion, experts believe that developing smart traffic application technology requires a combination of practical experience at businesses and collaboration between universities, businesses, and government entities. They also highlight the importance of policies that promote public transportation using green energy and encourage transitioning to electric vehicles while acknowledging that there is still a limited application of technology in traffic management due to a lack of expertise in information technology among management teams.
