Museum of Natural Science Welcomes New Exhibit for World Snake Day: Slithering Serpents

The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science in Jackson is gearing up to celebrate World Snake Day on Friday, July 19 with a special snake-themed exhibit. Visitors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with snakes, learn more about them, and even touch different snake species under the supervision of trained personnel.

During World Snake Day, guests can expect to see live snakes, learn about the importance of Mississippi’s native snakes, and gain knowledge on how to distinguish between venomous and non-venomous snakes. MMNS director Charles Knight emphasized that the event will provide a unique and educational experience for all attendees.

Research scientists will be present to answer any questions that snake enthusiasts may have, and there will also be crafts and educational activities available for visitors of all ages to enjoy. MMNS encourages everyone to participate in this event, as it promises to be an unforgettable and informative experience.

Tickets are now available for the World Snake Day exhibit, with admission priced at $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (60+), $6 for youth (3-18), and free for children under the age of three. The exhibit is also included with Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Foundation Membership.
