Merger Deal Between Six Flags and Cedar Fair Almost Finalized

Theme park giants Six Flags and Cedar Fair are poised to merge, creating one of the largest theme park businesses in North America. The merger, which is expected to be finalized on Monday, will form the new company, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. This new entity will have a combined value of around $8 billion, allowing for significant investments in new rides, attractions, food and beverage options, and consumer technologies to enhance the overall guest experience.

The merger will bring together dozens of theme parks, water parks, and resort properties across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Richard Zimmerman, the current President and CEO of Cedar Fair, will lead the merged company as its new President and CEO. Selim Bassoul, the President and CEO of Six Flags, will transition to the role of executive chairman for the board of directors. This move is anticipated to bring continuous improvement and innovation to the guest experience at the parks.

Currently, Six Flags has locations in 11 states across North America including Montreal and Mexico City while Cedar Fair has parks in nine states across North America including Toronto area as well as accommodation options ranging from RV sites to hotels in various locations around U.S .
