River Bend Nature Center to host Sip N’ Science event in honor of tornado anniversary

The Sip N’ Science event at River Bend Nature Center is a unique opportunity to mark the 45th anniversary of the Terrible Tuesday Tornado in Wichita Falls, Texas. The event will take place on Friday, April 12 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, two days after the anniversary.

Attendees can expect an evening filled with interesting and informative activities such as learning about Wichita Falls’ extreme weather history, a timeline of the disaster, truths versus legends of the event, tornado trivia, and safety methods. All while enjoying beverages and delicious hor d’oeuvres.

The event will be led by retired News Channel 6 morning meteorologist John Cameron, who will provide valuable insights on staying safe during severe weather. He will share images of the Terrible Tuesday tornado and its aftermath and general tornado trivia. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to delve into the history of the tornado and gain insights on how to stay safe in similar situations.
