Sioux Falls: Airport Expansion and Downtown Building Renovation Bring Exciting Changes to the City

Sioux Falls Airport Prepares for Expansion, Club David Building Undergoes Significant Renovation

Jodi Schwan from SiouxFalls.Business recently discussed the growth happening at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport and a downtown building renovation project. The airport is currently undergoing an expansion to add at least five or six more gates, which will support current flights and potentially bring in new ones, including international flights if budget allows. Funding for this project is being sought from federal and state sources as well as revenue bonds, with the hope of receiving it later this year and starting construction next year.

On the other hand, a downtown building on West 10th Street is undergoing a facelift. Previously home to Club David, the building is being renovated by the group behind Parker’s and Icon Lounge with a focus on historic preservation. The exterior has already seen improvements, with new windows giving it a more modern look. Inside, the building is undergoing a top-to-bottom renovation, with the main floor being used for special events while the upstairs and deck offer a variety of food options. Despite ongoing renovations, the building remains open to the public and completion is expected later this year.
