Simms’ Surprise: Washington Commanders Overlooked in NFC East Predictions for Upcoming Season

Chris Simms: NFC East Preview with Concerns about the Commanders

During the “Chris Simms Unbuttoned” podcast this week, Chris Simms discussed his predictions for the NFC East in the upcoming season. To everyone’s surprise, Simms barely mentioned the Washington Commanders during the conversation. When the topic of Draft Kings over/under win totals for the Giants and Commanders came up, Simms expressed shock that the Commanders were predicted to outperform the Giants.

Despite his initial surprise, Simms shifted his focus to discussing the other three division rivals. He expressed optimism about the Philadelphia Eagles, stating that they have a chip on their shoulder this offseason and predicting that they will outperform their 2023 team. Simms also mentioned that the Cowboys are a fringe playoff team in his opinion.

While he has a soft spot for his father’s former team, New York Giants, Simms still believes they could be a strong long shot bet in the division and highlighted their wide receiver group’s potential. In fact, he and co-host Ahmed Fareed agreed that Giants’ wide receiver group could outperform Cowboys’ group this season. They also discussed concerns about Cowboys’ offensive tackle positions. In conclusion, Simms sees the Eagles as the team to beat with Giants potentially landing at second place in NFC East standings while Cowboys might end up at bottom and Commanders trying to keep up with them.
