Shooting at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill Leaves One Person Hurt, No Arrests Made Yet

A shooting occurred at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill in Martinsville, Virginia, around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, resulting in the hospitalization of one person, according to police. The incident took place on Spruce Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

The manager of the restaurant informed WDBJ7 that a woman known for causing problems at the establishment entered the bar around 11:30 p.m. with a man. Shortly after, gunshots were fired in the parking lot. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, but one person was taken into custody at the scene for unrelated reasons, as per police.

Authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community as they continue their investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to come forward. Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill remains open for business, but management plans to have additional security on site in the future as a precaution.
