A shopping center in Glassell Park was recently hit by a wave of vandalism, leaving several businesses damaged and their owners shaken up. According to police reports, the break-ins happened in the early hours of the morning, targeting five different businesses in the area. The aftermath of the incidents showed extensive damage, with shattered windows and other broken property.
Surveillance footage captured a burglar using brute force to break through the windows of “Polka Polish Restaurant” in Glassell Park. Restaurant owner Michael Buddy expressed his frustration towards the vandal, saying, “I just want to speak to the coward who did it.” The incident disrupted Budney’s plans for a typical Monday morning, which involved taking his wife and daughter to lunch after school. Inside the restaurant, the burglar searched cabinets for cash but found none, leaving only a trail of destruction behind.
Victor Bekyan, who owns a laundromat that was also broken into, emphasized the importance of caution to prevent a bigger loss. He advised business owners to be careful and not leave cash in the register. As investigations continue, authorities are urging anyone with information on the break-ins to contact the LAPD’s Northeast station.
