On the evening of Independence Day, a young man was tragically murdered outside of Academy Sports + Outdoors in the Festival Centre. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old DeShaun Bonner. Bonner was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries.
The Mobile Police Department is currently investigating the homicide but have not named any suspects at this time. The shooting took place in the 4 p.m. hour, according to reports. News 5 has a team on the scene and is actively working to gather more information about the case.
