Shock and Disappointment: Atlanta Barber Feels Betrayed by Trump Campaign’s Political Event

Black business owner in Atlanta shocked by Trump campaign event at his barbershop

Rocky Jones, the owner of Rocky’s Barbershop in Atlanta, expressed shock and disappointment after the Trump campaign held an event at his barbershop on the day before the presidential debate. The event was not something he had signed up for, and he felt betrayed by the move.

Jones had always taken pride in welcoming customers from all backgrounds and providing them with haircuts and good conversations. However, when prominent Republicans gathered at his barbershop for a political event, it left him feeling disheartened. He had initially believed he was hosting a small Black business roundtable but was caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events.

While Jones was compensated for hosting the event for two hours, he expressed his willingness to give back the money. He urged other business owners to be cautious when being approached with offers to host events, especially during election season. The Trump campaign did not provide a response to inquiries from Atlanta News First regarding the event at Rocky’s Barbershop.
