Indian squad for Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 announced

India has announced its squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand. Shivan Dube’s impressive performance in the IPL has earned him a spot in the national team following his participation in the recent T20I series against Afghanistan. The 30-year-old batsman has been in top form for the Chennai Super Kings, scoring an impressive 350 runs in nine matches with a strike rate of 172.41.

India has chosen a spin-heavy bowling lineup for the upcoming matches, with players like Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal leading the charge. Jasprit Bumrah will spearhead the pace attack, supported by Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya.

The batting lineup includes expected names like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav at the top order, alongside captain Rohit Sharma. Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan have been named as reserves for the team.

One notable absence from the squad is KL Rahul, who has been a key player in India’s previous T20 World Cup campaigns in 2021 and 2022. Despite his past success, Rahul did not make the cut for this round of selections.
