Oban Camanachd secures victory in the Celtic Society Cup defense

Oban Camanachd secured a 3-1 victory over Kyles Athletic in the final of the Scottish Seafoods Celtic Society Cup for the South area championship at Yoker. Camanachd, who were the favourites in the match, opened the scoring with a goal from Malcolm Clark. However, Kyles quickly equalized with a goal from Scott MacDonald. The game turned in two goals scored in quick succession at the end of the first half – Clark scored his second goal followed immediately by one from Lewis Cameron.

In the North semi-final of the Artemis Macaulay Cup, Lovat and Kingussie secured victories to move forward in the tournament. Lovat defeated Lochaber 2-0, while Kingussie maintained their unbeaten record with a 3-0 win over Kinlochshiel.

Strathglass secured a 4-2 victory over Glenurquhart in a match between shinty’s oldest rivals in the North Division 1. However, it was Strathglass’ first team, who have been relegated to this area league, that emerged victorious over Glen’s reserves.

The Ferguson Balliemore Cup saw Fort captain Victor Smith score the only goal to eliminate the league leaders in a tight match between the top two teams in National Division.
