Shattering Barriers: Linda Logan’s Leadership Elevates Columbus as a Top Sports Destination for Women

Linda Logan, the CEO of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission, has been instrumental in making Columbus a top sports destination since its inception in 2002. Under her leadership, the city has been recognized as one of the best event-hosting cities in the country, with a particular focus on promoting women’s sports.

Logan’s passion for sports dates back to her childhood in Northeast Ohio, where she was involved in sports statistics and reporting for boys’ teams due to a lack of opportunities to play herself. After joining Ohio University’s sports administration program, she worked with the Milwaukee Does, a women’s pro basketball team, and has been a supporter of women’s sports ever since. She successfully brought major women’s sports events to Columbus, such as the 2018 NCAA Women’s Final Four and the 2021 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. Recently, she helped launch the Columbus Fury, a women’s professional volleyball team and plans to attract more female professional teams to the city in the future including soccer and hockey.
