Sharks Acquire Talented Forward Egor Afanasyev in Trade with Nashville Predators

Predators acquire former first-round pick Wiesblatt in trade with Sharks

The San Jose Sharks have made a trade, sending former first-round pick Ozzy Wiesblatt to the Nashville Predators. In return for the young forward, the Sharks have acquired prospect Egor Afanasyev from the Predators.

Afanasyev is a 23-year-old winger standing at 6-foot-4 and was chosen by Nashville in the second round of the 2019 Draft. He had an impressive season with the Milwaukee Admirals, leading the team with 27 goals and 54 points. Additionally, Afanasyev tallied five goals and four assists in 15 playoff games. Throughout his career, he has appeared in 19 NHL games over two seasons, scoring his first NHL goal on April 10, 2023, against the Calgary Flames.

This trade showcases the Sharks’ commitment to enhancing their roster and building for the future.
