Shakira’s meticulous planning and attention to detail: Behind her $1 million cobra mistake and a lesson learned.

Shakira Loses Money on First World Tour Due to $1 Million Cobra

Shakira has always been known for her meticulous planning when it comes to the production of her tours and performances. This attention to detail can sometimes result in lost money, as she shared during a chat with Sean Evans on Hot Ones. The Colombian pop star revealed that she ended up losing money during her 2002 Tour of the Mongoose due to a giant cobra background element at the start of her shows. Despite being a significant expense, Shakira mentioned that the cobra cost $1 million to produce and ultimately led to financial losses despite the tour being a huge success.

Shakira’s third-ever tour was in support of her first English album, Laundry Service, and featured hit songs like “Whenever, Wherever,” “The One,” and “Ciega, Sordomuda.” During the Hot Ones episode, Shakira also mentioned that she was a big fan of Family Guy and even reached out to Seth MacFarlane to translate her 2009 song “Loba” into English for the version “She Wolf.” She praised MacFarlane’s creativity and musical talent but ultimately ended up translating the song herself.

In a recent interview, Shakira shed light on her past tours and collaborations while showcasing her dedication to creating unique and memorable performances for her fans. Her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, features tracks like “Puntería” with Cardi B, “Entre Paréntesis” with Grupo Frontera, and “Cohete” with Rauw Alejandro.
