Shakira’s Coachella Debut: A Night to Remember, with Bizarrap and New Album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

Shakira teams up with Bizarrap at Coachella 2024 and reveals upcoming world tour

Shakira recently took the stage at Coachella for her first performance, joining forces with Bizarrap, an Argentine DJ and hitmaker known for his role in her epic comeback. The Colombian pop legend thrilled the audience with two collaborations with Bizarrap: “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” from her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran and their club-ready track “La Fuerte.”

During her Coachella performance, Shakira announced that she will be embarking on a world tour to promote her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. She mentioned starting the tour in November in the city, although it was unclear if she meant the city of Indio or another location. Bizarrap’s set featured songs from his viral Music Sessions series, showcasing talented MCs from Latin America like Quevedo, Rauw Alejandro, Villano Antillano, and Young Miko. He also brought a taste of Mexican corridos with his recent Natanael Cano session and “Entre Las 20,” along with a collaboration with Peso Pluma.

Shakira’s Coachella debut came after initial reports of her team pushing for her to headline the festival, which ultimately did not happen. However, she still managed to draw a crowd of over 40,000 in Times Square in March as she performed songs from Las Mujeres No Lloran. A Rolling Stone review praised the album, stating that Shakira finally gets to reintroduce herself as an international pop icon and undefeated champ, turning the page on the past few tumultuous years.
