To celebrate the release of the latest edition of ‘Progression of World Athletics Records,’ 10 printed copies of the book are being offered as prizes. The publication was made possible by the generous support of Mark Takada from Canada, and it has been edited by ATFS member Richard Hymans. Originally published in 1987 by World Athletics, this edition showcases the achievements of athletes who have set world records, highlighting the ultimate accomplishment in the world of athletics.

In his message as president, Sebastian Coe emphasized the significance of world records in sport. He pointed out that winning Olympic gold medals with world records is an incredibly rare feat, showcasing the immense challenge that athletes face in achieving this goal. Coe also highlighted some memorable moments in his own events where world records have been set only a few times.

The book is available in both ebook and printed formats and can be purchased for US$30 including postage and packing through World Athletics. Additionally, there is a chance to win one of 10 printed copies by participating in a competition. The winners will be chosen at random and contacted by World Athletics after the competition deadline.
