Serbia Prepares for European Championships as Fulham and Chelsea Stars Add to Squad

Serbia Euros squad includes Petrovic and Mitrovic

Serbia has secured automatic qualification for Euro 2024 after finishing second in their group. The team’s goalkeeper, Dorde Petrovic of Chelsea, and midfielder Sasa Lukic of Fulham have both been included in the squad. In the tournament, Serbia will be drawn in Group C alongside England, Denmark, and Slovenia, with their first match against England on June 16 in Gelsenkirchen.

Former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic will add firepower to Serbia’s attack during the European Championships. This marks a historic moment for Serbia as they will appear at the Euros as an independent nation for the first time since 2000. Despite missing out on qualifying for Euro 2020, Serbia has a strong track record in World Cup qualifications.

Mitrovic, who currently plays for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, finished as the second-highest scorer in the Saudi Pro League last season. Petrovic of Chelsea is expected to serve as the backup goalkeeper to Vanja Milinkovic-Savic in the squad. The full Serbia squad consists of players from various clubs across Europe and includes a solid line-up of defenders, midfielders, and forwards ready to represent their country in the competition.

Serbia’s impressive performance in World Cup qualifications has given them confidence going into this tournament. They are determined to make up for missing out on Euro 2020 and prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with in European football. With a mix of talented players from different clubs across Europe, Serbia is well-positioned to succeed at Euro 2024.
