Woo and Tanaka ready for Seiko Golden Grand Prix

The Seiko Golden Grand Prix, one of the four World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meetings of the year, will take place in Tokyo on May 19th. The event will feature two highly talented athletes – Woo Sanghyeok from Korea and Nozomi Tanaka representing Japan.

Woo, who won bronze in the men’s high jump at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, has also had a successful career in this event. He previously won the title at the Belgrade meeting two years ago. On the other hand, Tanaka is known for her strong performances in long-distance races and has competed in various international events such as the Tokyo Olympics, World Championships in Budapest, and the World Cross Country Championships in Belgrade.

Tanaka will be defending her 1500m title at the Seiko Golden Grand Prix after winning it last year. Ririka Hironaka will join her in the women’s 5000m event. In addition to these events, Asuka Terada and Masumi Aoki will face competition from Yumi Tanaka in the women’s 100m hurdles while Shunsuke Izumiya and Rachid Muratake are expected to bring their A-game to the men’s 110m hurdles race. This competition is sure to be fierce at this prestigious meetup held in Tokyo.
