Tennessee baseball set to take on Texas A&M in the College World Series championship

The College World Series will be contested between two SEC teams, Tennessee baseball and Texas A&M, with the championship game set to take place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. This will mark the third time in three seasons that two SEC teams will play for the national title, ensuring that an SEC team will be crowned champions for the fifth consecutive time.

In their lone matchup this season, Tennessee defeated Texas A&M 7-4 in the SEC Tournament on May 23. Both teams have had impressive journeys to reach the finals, with Tennessee’s exciting win over Florida State securing their spot in the final series for the first time since 1951. Meanwhile, Texas A&M’s thrilling first game included a game-saving catch by right fielder Jace LaViolette before securing wins against Kentucky and Florida to advance to the final series.

The schedule for the College World Series finals is as follows: Game 1 between Texas A&M and Tennessee will take place on Saturday, Game 2 on Sunday, and Game 3 (if necessary) on Monday.
