Seatrium Secures $11 Billion Contract from Petrobras to Develop Eco-Friendly FPSO Platforms in Brazil’s Santos Basin

Seatrium Limited Successfully Secures International Tender with Petrobras

Seatrium Limited has secured a significant international tender from Brazil’s National Oil Company, Petrobras, to provide floating production storage and offloading vessels (FPSO) platforms P-84 and P-85 for the Atapu1 and Sepia2 consortiums. The contracts, valued at around $11 billion, will see these high-capacity FPSOs being deployed in the Atapu and Sépia fields located in the Santos Basin, 200 km offshore from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Seatrium’s dedication to responsible practices is reflected in these advancements. Each FPSO will be capable of processing 225,000 barrels per day and 10 million standard cubic meters of gas per day. These platforms will incorporate advanced features such as zero routine flaring and venting, variable speed drives, emissions control measures, and CO2 capture. An all-electric concept will focus on efficient power generation and increased energy efficiency to achieve a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity. This approach will improve operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

Construction of the P-84 and P-85 FPSOs is set to begin in the first quarter of 2025, with the final delivery expected in 2029. Seatrium’s commitment to sustainable operations within the oil and gas industry highlights its leadership in this area.
