120 Bodies Recovered in Jabalia Camp After Israeli Incursion

The Jabalia displaced persons camp in the north of Gaza Strip has been the focus of intense rescue and civil defense efforts after a major Israeli military incursion that ended last month. Since then, teams have retrieved over 120 bodies from the wreckage of homes, shelters, schools, and hospitals in the area. According to Wafa, Palestinian news agency, this is just the beginning of a long and difficult process to recover all those who lost their lives during the conflict.

During the operation, Israel claims its forces “eliminated” hundreds of terrorists and recovered the bodies of seven individuals who were kidnapped on October 7. However, Palestinian sources have reported a range of atrocities and crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces, including massive destruction of homes, services, and public facilities in the area. The raid on Jabalia camp began on May 11 with tanks entering for an operation focused on specific parts of the refugee camp. The camp was later subject to intense aerial bombardment but was not part of ground operations until later.

The situation in Gaza remains tense and volatile as ongoing efforts continue to recover bodies and assess damage caused by recent military incursions. The human toll of this conflict continues to rise, highlighting an urgent need for a peaceful resolution to long-standing conflicts in the region.
