Seahawks Eyeing Veteran Guards Laken Tomlinson and Cody Whitehair for Offensive Line Reinforcements

Seahawks Express Interest in Laken Tomlinson and Cody Whitehair, Report Says

Seattle is still in search of reinforcements along the offensive line and has expressed interest in adding a pair of veteran guards to their roster. Two players that the Seahawks have shown interest in are Laken Tomlinson and Cody Whitehair.

Laken Tomlinson, 32, played for the New York Jets for the past two seasons and never missed an offensive snap during that time. He was a Pro Bowler for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021 and has been a consistent presence in the league since being drafted as the No. 28 overall pick in 2015. Tomlinson appeared in 146 games with 138 starts and was released by the Jets in February.

Cody Whitehair, 31, spent his entire eight-year career with the Chicago Bears before being released earlier this year. He was named a Pro Bowler in 2018 and played in all 17 games with 11 starts for the Bears in 2023, accounting for 69 percent of the team’s offensive snaps. Seattle is considering bringing him in for a visit as they look to strengthen their offensive line.

The Seahawks are looking to add some experience to their offensive line, which has been struggling at times this season. Laken Tomlinson and Cody Whitehair both have plenty of experience playing at a high level and could provide much-needed stability along Seattle’s front lines.

Seattle is interested in bringing both players on board to help bolster their offense but there is no word yet on whether or not either player will be able to make it to Seattle before training camp begins next month.

Seattle has been looking for ways to improve its offense all offseason long, but one area that needs improvement is its offensive line. The team’s current group of linemen has struggled at times this season, leaving quarterback Russell Wilson vulnerable to pressure and sacks.

The Seahawks may look to bring on board some veteran help along their front lines next month when training camp begins. Two players that have caught their eye so far are Laken Tomlinson and Cody Whitehair.

Tomlinson played for several teams throughout his career including the Jets, Rams, Bills, Buccaneers, Saints, Chargers and now he’s back with his hometown team Seattle Seahawks as they look to strengthen their offense through free agency moves.

Whitehair played exclusively with Chicago Bears throughout his career until he was cut earlier this year due to salary cap constraints. He had an impressive career with them earning one pro bowl selection before joining Seattle Seahawks who are looking for more depth along their offensive line.

Both players bring experience and talent to the table which could benefit Seattle’s offense greatly if they can make it work together on-field. With training camp just around
