Scottish Clubs Look to Indian Transfer Market for Player Development and Profit: Celtic, Rangers, and Heart of Midlothian’s Strategies

‘Celtic reportedly eyeing Livakovic for goalkeeper position’

Fenerbahce’s goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic has caught the attention of both Celtic and Ipswich Town, with Celtic officially tabling a bid of £7.6m for the 29-year-old player. Meanwhile, Rangers may need to wait until the end of pre-season to bring back 22-year-old forward Abdallah Sima, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion. Heart of Midlothian is willing to consider a significant offer for Lawrence Shankland, who could boost Rangers’ attacking options.

Rangers appears to be adopting a similar transfer strategy as Celtic’s recent approach, focusing on acquiring moderately priced players who can be developed and potentially sold for a profit in the future. Sandy Stewart, assistant manager at Chenaiyin, suggests that Scottish clubs should explore the Indian transfer market due to improvements in standards as a result of investments in grass roots and youth football in the country.
