The Manson School Board has decided to stick with its current five-day-a-week schedule for the upcoming academic year. The board opted not to pursue an Economy Efficiency Waiver, which would have allowed for a 4-Day Student School Week. This decision comes after recent legislation expanded the number of districts eligible to consider such an option.
During discussions, board members were not ready to make a decision on changing the school schedule. As a result, the consideration of a four-day school week will not be included in board meeting agendas for now. However, the board may revisit this topic in the fall of 2024 for further deliberation.
Superintendent Tabatha Mires emphasized that the board is currently focused on strategic planning and budgeting. She expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who provided input on the matter, noting that their feedback was carefully considered by the board.
