Baghdad and Riyadh Discuss Plans for Sixth Session of Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council

On Tuesday, Saudi Trade Minister Majid Al-Qasabi and his delegation met with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani in Baghdad to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries. The meeting included discussions on coordination procedures for the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council and the implementation of previous outcomes in various committees.

Al-Sudani commended Saudi Arabia for its efforts during the Hajj ceremonies and expressed gratitude for the level of services provided to Iraqi pilgrims. He emphasized the importance of reconsidering Iraq’s share for next year based on population statistics. Al-Qasabi conveyed greetings from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, expressing the government’s desire to expand cooperation and strengthen relations between Baghdad and Riyadh.

The discussions also covered plans for future cooperation in various fields, including determining a date for the next session of the Coordination Council and continuing to strengthen ties through shared projects and agreements. The meeting highlighted the commitment of both Iraq and Saudi Arabia to fostering a positive and collaborative relationship for mutual growth and prosperity.
