Sanford Health Recognized as Top Employer for Military and Veteran Affairs in Midwest

Sanford Health recognized as the top non-profit organization for veterans

Captain Paul Weckman, the head of military and veteran affairs at Sanford Health, expressed gratitude for the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces. He stated that Sanford Health is committed to providing support for veterans and their families, which is why they have been recognized as the top employer in the Government & Non-Profit category by Military Friendly Brands.

This recognition was based on evaluations using public and government data sources, as well as a comprehensive survey completed by the employer. Other health care organizations like Northwell Health, Mayo Clinic, and UCHealth also made the list.

Sanford Health provides various programs for military and veteran employees, such as benefits continuation and differential pay during deployment. In 2023, Sanford Health expanded its support by partnering with the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program and the Military Spouses Employment Program to assist active-duty members and their spouses.

Veterans of the United States uniformed services who apply for a job at Sanford Health are automatically given a screening interview. Military and veteran employees have the opportunity to further their education and apply for a $5,000 scholarship. This commitment to supporting veterans has enabled Sanford Health to deliver world-class care to patients across the Midwest.
