Saints to Sign Roderic Teamer

Safety Roderic Teamer, 27, has signed with the Saints on a one-year deal after participating in New Orleans’ minicamp on a tryout basis. Teamer was previously with the Raiders before being cut following an arrest for DUI in November of last season. He entered the league with the Chargers in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane, where he appeared in seven games with six starts as a rookie. However, he was waived in August 2020 for violating the NFL’s policy on substance abuse.

After spending time in the 2021 offseason with the Colts, Teamer signed with the Raiders in June of that year and played in 10 games for the franchise that season. He was on the field for all 17 games for Las Vegas in 2022, mostly contributing on special teams. Despite his recent success, Teamer could still face disciplinary action from the league for his 2023 DUI arrest.
