Saints Release QB Kellen Mond and OL Tommy Kraemer from their Roster, Eyeing Additions ahead of Rookie Minicamp

Saints release Kellen Mond and Tommy Kraemer

New Orleans Saints have waived quarterback Kellen Mond and offensive lineman Tommy Kraemer, as per the NFL’s daily transaction report. This move has ended Mond’s tenure with the team, which began in mid-April. Although no new players were immediately added to the roster, the Saints are expected to make additions in the coming days, especially with their rookie minicamp scheduled for this weekend.

Mond had signed with the Saints in mid-April, but his departure was anticipated after the team drafted Spencer Rattler in the fifth round, bringing their total number of quarterbacks to five. With Rattler now on board, Jake Haener and Nathan Peterman will also be part of the Saints’ quarterback lineup alongside Derek Carr.

Kraemer had appeared in four games for New Orleans last season and had also spent time with the Lions in 2021, playing in nine games for them. With both Mond and Kraemer out of the picture, the Saints are gearing up for the upcoming season with renewed focus and clarity on their roster composition.
