Sabika Jewelry: Closing Down but Celebrating Legacy and Gratitude in Pittsburgh

Sabika Jewelry, a jewelry company that was founded in Pittsburgh, is closing its doors.

Karin Mahr, founder of Sabika Jewelry company based in Pittsburgh, announced that the company will be closing down after 23 years in operation. The company primarily sold jewelry through direct sales at home parties, utilizing over 5,300 salespeople across the United States. Today, Mahr’s daughters are running the company, and CEO Alexandra Mahr-Gracik explained that various business factors contributed to the difficult decision to shut down the business.

Mahr-Gracik expressed gratitude for the support from Pittsburgh that helped kickstart the company in 2001. She invited everyone to celebrate with them in the coming weeks and highlighted their goal of finding homes for all remaining pieces of jewelry. Sabika has provided over $44 million in commissions to the women who sold their jewelry, a fact that Mahr-Gracik and her family are proud of. With all Sabika jewelry now at half price on their website, fans of the brand are eager to take advantage of the deals.

As a way to say thank you to their loyal customers, Sabika is hosting a special open house at their Robinson office on June 5. During this event, customers can purchase collector’s items, original prototypes, and pieces from the vault at discounted prices. Despite the emotional decision to close the business, Mahr-Gracik is touched by the support and enthusiasm from loyal customers. Her hope is that every piece of Sabika jewelry finds a new home and continues to bring joy to its wearers.
