RWJBarnabas Health Leaders Join Asbury Park’s 32nd Annual LGBTQ+ PRIDE Parade: Pursuing Diversity and Equity in Healthcare Services

RWJBarnabas Health Leaders and Employees Participate in Jersey PRIDE Parade and Festival to Promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

RWJBarnabas Health leaders from various facilities, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, Monmouth Medical Center, and Community Medical Center, joined the 32nd Annual LGBTQ+ PRIDE Parade and Festival in Asbury Park on June 2, 2024. The event was the largest parade and festival in New Jersey. During the celebration, RWJBarnabas Health provided health screenings and information, highlighting their primary care centers and navigation services such as The Babs Siperstein PROUD Center, the PROUD Center at Community Medical Center, and the PROUD Gender Center at RWJUH.

The commitment to LGBTQIA health equity, diversity, and inclusion was evident throughout the parade and festival. With 13 RWJBarnabas Health facilities recognized as Healthcare Equality Index leaders by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, their participation in the PRIDE Celebration showcased their ongoing dedication to the LGBTQ+ community.

In addition to RWJBarnabas Health leaders, other organizations were represented at the event. The Institute for Prevention and Recovery focused on promoting LGBTQIA health equity during the parade and festival.

The organization’s commitment to providing quality care and support to the LGBTQ+ community was highlighted during the event. This demonstrates their efforts to ensure that all individuals receive inclusive and respectful health services.
