Four-star defensive back Ayden Pouncey from Winter Park High School in Florida has caught the attention of Rutgers football with his impressive skills. Ranked as the No. 128 recruit in the 247Sports rankings for the class of 2026 and also receiving offers from Boston College, Georgia, and Penn State, Pouncey is eager to visit Rutgers this summer.
During a conversation with head coach Greg Schiano and running backs coach Damiere Shaw, Pouncey expressed his excitement about the offer from Rutgers. He was impressed by the coaches’ message that they only offer players they are genuinely interested in signing, reinforcing the school’s commitment to recruiting players who fit their culture.
Pouncey’s conversation with the Rutgers staff also allowed him to learn more about the program and connect with head coach Greg Schiano. He was impressed by Schiano’s genuine nature and dedication to building a strong culture within the program.
Last season, Pouncey recorded 21 total tackles and four interceptions, showcasing his versatility and skills on the field. He is looking forward to exploring the opportunities that Rutgers has to offer for his future in football.
