Iskander missiles showcased in Russian video targeting Ukrainian brigade

Russia released a video showing Iskander ballistic missiles attacking an area believed to be the gathering point of Ukraine’s 32nd Mechanized Brigade in Kharkov. On March 30, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the discovery of the stationing area and restoration of combat power of the 32nd Ukrainian Mechanized Brigade in Kharkov province. The exact time and location were not disclosed, but geographical data showed that the raid target was near the city of Chuguev, about 50 km from the border with Russia. The decision to carry out the attack was made immediately after the coordinates were transferred to the command post by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) crew. Two Iskander tactical ballistic missiles were used to completely destroy the target.

In addition to this attack, Russia carried out a large-scale raid and 57 coordinated attacks on Ukraine from March 23-30, using various high-precision long-range weapons, including Zircon and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. Targets included defense industry corporations, decision-making centers of the Ukrainian army and intelligence, factories producing unmanned suicide boats, ammunition depots, gas stations, air defense and energy infrastructure, and more.

The video released by Russian defense television shows a tent camp and numerous motor vehicles in a forest. Two large halos of fire erupted in the middle of the camp and part of the forest, causing fires. The extent of casualties and damage to equipment is unknown. The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced that two Iskander tactical ballistic missiles were used to completely destroy a target in Kharkov province on March 30th.

The 32nd Brigade was established in early 2023 as part of nine Ukrainian brigades trained by NATO for a counter-offensive campaign against Russia’s aggression in eastern Ukraine. However, due to lack of equipment with expected tanks and armored vehicles, it was deployed on Lugansk front instead participating in counterattacks in other regions
