RuPaul Reigns Supreme: Why Envy Peru Declined an Offer to Appear on Canada’s Drag Race

Winner of Drag Race Rejects Invitation to Compete in Canada vs the World

Envy Peru, the winner of Drag Race Holland’s first season, recently revealed that she turned down an offer to appear on the Canadian spin-off show. The Drag Race franchise has been known for producing various spin-offs over the years, with All Stars 1 in 2012 and an all-winners show in 2022. The series has now gone international, with Canada vs. The World airing in 2022.

Envy Peru shared that World of Wonder approached her about appearing on Canada’s Drag Race vs. The World. However, she ultimately declined the offer because she wants to showcase her drag in front of RuPaul, the host of the original show, instead of Brooke Lynn Hytes who hosts the Canadian version. Speaking on Give It To Me Straight, Envy explained her decision by saying, “”If I’m going to go back on Drag Race or whatever season, I want to do it in front of RuPaul. That’s nothing against Brooke… because I love her, but I’ve never been in front of RuPaul. I want to present my drag in front of Mother Ru.” She declined the offer to have two winners face off against each other, stating that it wasn’t the right moment for her to return.

Although Envy won’t be appearing on Canada’s Drag Race vs. The World, the rumored cast list for season two includes two queens returning for the fourth time. This decision reflects Envy’s desire to showcase her drag in front of RuPaul, the iconic host of the original Drag Race series.
