Man jumps off world’s largest cruise ship to his death

On Sunday morning, during the maiden voyage of Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, a passenger tragically jumped overboard from the ship, which was about 300 miles out of PortMiami. The identity of the deceased man remains unknown at this time, as reported by the New York Post. Despite efforts by the US Coast Guard to search and rescue him, he was pronounced dead after being brought back aboard the ship.

The Icon of the Seas is an impressive vessel with a length of 1,200 feet and a capacity to accommodate over 10,000 people. The ship paused its journey for two hours while crew members assisted in the search and rescue mission. Guests onboard shared videos of the rescue effort on social media, expressing shock and concern over the tragic events that unfolded.
