The kicking competition in Green Bay has been narrowed down to two contenders, Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph. However, the Packers have waived kicker Jack Podlesny, leaving only these two candidates in the running for the job. Out of the three kickers, Podlesny is a first-year player who was originally signed as an undrafted rookie by the Vikings in 2023. He was later cut from the team during training camp but then signed with the Packers in January. Despite his lack of NFL experience, Podlesny had a successful college career at Georgia, making 82.4 percent of his field goals.
While he has never had the opportunity to kick in a regular-season NFL game, Podlesny’s college success may give him a shot at winning the kicking competition in Green Bay. With Carlson’s struggles from his rookie season and Joseph’s inconsistency, Podlesny could potentially emerge as the Packers’ starting kicker for the upcoming season.
